Nowadays, the use of microwave ovens is more and more frequent, and it is more and more able to meet more needs. When the demand for plastic boxes to be placed in microwave ovens was raised, it was generally believed that plastics were not resistant to high temperatures and were impossible to achieve. But in fact, plastic boxes can be heated in microwave ovens, which only refers to PP5 plastic boxes.
The common plastic packaging boxes on the market are No. 1, No. 5, and No. 6. Let’s take a closer look.
1. No. 1 plastic box refers to No. 1 polyethylene terephthalate (PET), which does not have heat resistance and will deform when heated. It is often used in the outer packaging of mineral water and beverages.
Second, No. 5 polypropylene is the PP5 mentioned above. It has good mechanical properties and heat resistance, can withstand high temperatures of 200 ° C, and can be repeatedly heated for use.
3. No. 6 polystyrene (PS), which is often used in instant noodle boxes and milk tea cups. Although the texture is very hard, it is easy to tear, and it is very peculiar, not resistant to high temperature, low temperature, and releases chemicals when heated, so it cannot be used for microwave heating.
