What are the packing box materials

1. The packaging box is made of many materials. The plastic packaging box made of PP with triangle arrow mark and number 5 in the box can be used for microwave heating. Other plastic packing boxes cannot be put into microwave oven for heating. In addition, packaging boxes made of foam and paper materials cannot be heated by microwave oven. When heating with glass packaging boxes, the heating time should not be too long.

2. There are seven kinds of plastic materials, which are mainly distinguished according to the figures in the triangle arrows on the plastic materials. The following is a detailed introduction:

(1) The plastic with the number 1 in the triangle arrow is made of PET, such as pure water bottles and various beverage bottles. This kind of material cannot be put into the microwave oven for heating. The bottle body will shrink under high temperature and produce harmful chemical components.

(2) The plastic with the number 2 in the triangle arrow is made of HDPE, and the bottles containing medicine, shower gel and detergent are made of this kind of material. Recycling and heating are not recommended. It contains a lot of chemical components and is easy to produce chemical reactions under high temperature.

(3) The plastic with the number 3 in the triangle arrow is made of PVC. The heat resistance of PVC is not high. Under high temperature conditions, it is easy to produce toxic and harmful ingredients, so it cannot be put into the microwave oven for heating.

(4) The plastic LDPE material with the number 4 in the triangle arrow is generally used to make the fresh-keeping film, which has poor heat resistance. It is easy to produce harmful substances when heated in the microwave oven, and it will be damaged to some extent after human consumption.

(5) The plastic with the number 5 in the triangle arrow is made of PP, which has strong heat resistance. It is not easy to produce chemical reaction when it is heated in the microwave oven, so it can be safely heated in the microwave oven.

(6) The plastic with the number 6 in the triangle arrow is made of PS, which cannot be heated at high temperature, otherwise it will produce toxic and harmful chemical components, and it is easy to form polystyrene, which may affect your health.

(7) The plastic with the number 7 in the triangle arrow is made of PC, which is mainly used to make milk bottles, space cups, etc. It contains polyphenol A. After heating, it may react with other substances, producing substances harmful to human health.

The law enforcement personnel seriously pointed out that the behavior of selling disposable foamed plastic lunch boxes violated the provision of Article 35 of the Product Quality Law of the People’s Republic of China that “the seller shall not sell products that have been eliminated and stopped by the state and invalid and deteriorated products”.

The law enforcement personnel seized 3100 disposable foamed plastic lunch boxes on the scene according to law and put them on file for investigation.

How to choose and buy disposable tableware correctly?

Look at the label: it should be clear whether the product name, material, name, address, contact information, production date and shelf life (when applicable) of the manufacturer and (or) distributor are identified according to the requirements of the national food safety standard, National Food Safety Standard General Safety Requirements for Food Contact Materials and Products.

Look at the appearance: you should choose the lunch box with smooth surface and uniform color, and try to choose the colorless and transparent products without decorative patterns.

Smell: you can smell it first to see if it is foul smelling. A normal lunch box should be odorless and tasteless. The use of tasty lunch boxes to contain food may affect food safety, so purchase and use should be avoided.
